Chic Throws launches their Spring/Summer Collection at HIP La Maison

A few days ago, HIP La Maison opened their splendid showroom doors to a new designer, Kris Leroy, founder of Chic Throws. This young and promising design company, located in the Grenoble valley, specializes in luxury soft furnishings for international tastes.

The ‘aperitif-shopping’ event was hosted by France Guenin, director of HIP and many visitors responded to the original invitation. With champagne in hand, guests were able to discover the unique piece throws and matching pillows, along with a sneak-peek of the winter 2009 collection. The combination of HIP’s designer ‘objets d’art’ were striking behind Chic Throws’ collection in-situ.

Chic Throws creates luxurious living room and bedding throws with matching pillows; either unique pieces based on the latest fabric fashion or limited edition collections which are the final touch to any contemporary décor. The large throws look wonderfully thrown on a sofa, daybed, or at the end of a bed, leaving a personal, warm, sophisticated touch. At HIP the combination of the throws on Arketipo contemporary sofas (distributed by HIP) were a perfect match.

Chic Throws works with the finest, upholstery fabric design houses in Paris, Lyon, London, Brussels, New York, Milan, and Barcelona. Kris the designer plays with varying designs highlighting the high-end fabric in it’s own right and chooses a variety of refined motifs and textures including: embroidered silk, glazed linen, striking velvet, taffeta, faux-fur and other designer fabrics. She associates the fabric based on the latest color and texture trends for a unique and original result; either very brilliant and vibrant or more subtle, zen earthtones. Kris’ expertise and creativity allow Chic Throws to offer bi-annual collections according to the latest trends.

Chic Throws’ creations naturally find their place in modern interiors, villas, apartments, lofts and hotels. Certain pieces look striking in more traditional Haussmanian apartments or even chateaux. There is no strict guideline when it comes to soft furnishing decoration.

Kris currently sells directly to the public either via private sales in high-end boutiques in London and France and also online. Chic Throws is also encouraging partnerships with interior decorators, top design resellers online and boutiques by offering personalized collections to reflect their specific style and image with their clientele.

All Chic Throws’ creations proudly show the ‘Made in Grenoble’ label as all unique pieces are made locally by seamstresses, and the limited edition collections are made in an atelier de couture in nearby Le Versoud. Kris has chosen the ‘made in France’ label for international sales and ‘haut de gamme’ stature as well as for tight quality control.

The Chic Throws’ brand reflects Kris’ Anglo-Saxon origins in San Francisco as well as her adoptive home in Grenoble. Despite selling locally in the Grésivaudan valley, she adapts her collections to markets in the UK, US, France, Dubai and Tahiti to seduce an international clientele.

The Chic Throw venue chez HIP La Maison was also a meeting of two dynamic, creative women that we particularly appreciate at Style Grésivaudan. When France Guenin opened her doors at HIP in 2002 she brought forth an innovative and trendy concept and has been successful ever since. The known HIP logo in fushia on the fabulous showroom on rue Casimir Périer continues to entice local clients in Grenoble with ‘objets déco’ from various designers allowing a very contemporary ‘art de vivre’ in Grenoble.
